Coach Marcus Applefield
Marcus Applefield, a native of the Hernando County area, is an accomplished athlete and a dedicated individual. Throughout his high school years at Weeki Wachee, Marcus demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and unwavering commitment to the game of football. As a four-year captain and a starter in every game, he was recognized for his outstanding performance, earning the title of All-North Suncoast by the Tampa Bay Times in 2013. His remarkable talent and dedication led him to make history as the first player from Weeki Wachee High School to receive a Division-I football scholarship, receiving offers from over two dozen universities.
In pursuit of his passion for the sport and his academic aspirations, Marcus graduated early from Weeki Wachee High School in 2014 and made a committed decision to join Rutgers University. Throughout his time at Rutgers, Marcus served as a team captain, showcasing his exceptional leadership both on and off the field. Alongside his commitment to football, he excelled academically, earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and achieving the impressive distinction of being a three-time BIG TEN All-Academic Athlete.
With an unyielding drive for personal growth and a desire to make a lasting impact, Marcus decided to transfer for his final year of college football to the University of Virginia in the highly competitive ACC conference. Once again, he demonstrated his exceptional leadership qualities by serving as a team captain. While earning his master's degree in Psychology, Marcus continued to shine academically, earning the esteemed recognition of being an ACC All-Academic student-athlete.
Marcus Applefield's journey in football led him to sign with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2019, fulfilling his dream of playing in the NFL. Unfortunately, his career was cut short by a career-ending back injury in 2021. Undeterred by this setback, Marcus now channels his expertise and passion towards the development of aspiring athletes within the community, aiming to guide them towards reaching their full potential and excelling at the next level of play.

Coach Mark Lee
With three decades of coaching experience spanning from high school to professional football, Mark Lee is a seasoned veteran in the game. He has left an indelible mark on the football community, mentoring numerous athletes and contributing to the success of various programs.
Mark's coaching journey has taken him to notable institutions such as Randolph-Macon College, Olivet Nazarene University, West Virginia University, Geneva College, Southwestern College, and Bethany College. His expertise and leadership have consistently elevated the teams he's been a part of, earning him recognition as a highly respected figure in the football world.
Most recently, Mark served as a coach in the XFL with the St. Louis Battlehawks, where his strategic insight and mentorship helped shape the team's success. His dedication to the game, coupled with his commitment to player development and community involvement, highlight his unwavering passion for football and its impact beyond the field.

Coach George Campbell
Coach Campbell, a prodigious talent, soared to prominence as the tenth best player and the top-rated athlete according to ESPN, solidifying his status as a top-10 wide receiver in the national high school class of 2015 as 5 star recruit.
Hailing from East Lake High School, he electrified the field throughout his senior season. Embarking on a collegiate journey, he honed his skills over four impactful years at Florida State before continuing his ascent at West Virginia University.
Not content with just athletic prowess, he pursued knowledge, earning a bachelor's degree in social science. His football journey led him to the pros, where he thrived in the NFL with the New York Jets and showcased his talent in the XFL with the St. Louis Battlehawks.

Coach Davonte Lambert
Hailing from Keysville, Georgia, Coach Lambert brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and success to the field. With a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and an accomplished football career, he is a true testament to hard work and perseverance.
In high school, Coach Lambert led his team to a state championship before advancing to Georgia Military College, where he competed in a national championship game. His exceptional talent earned him the title of #1 defensive lineman and #3 overall player in junior college rankings.
Continuing his journey at Auburn University, Coach Lambert excelled before signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and spending time with the Carolina Panthers. His professional career also includes an Arena Football Championship and an XFL Championship, where he earned the prestigious title of All-Pro Defensive Lineman.
Coach Lambert’s storied career reflects not only his skill and dedication but also his passion for mentoring and leading the next generation of athletes. He is an invaluable asset to the football community.

Coach Jabari Davis
Originally from Newport News, VA, Coach Jabari is a graduate of Sunlake High School (Class of 2017). He went on to compete in football and track at Ohio Wesleyan University, where he studied biomechanics and kinesiology. Although injuries limited his time on the field, they deepened his passion for performance, recovery, and athlete development.
After returning home, Coach Jabari continued his education at PHSC, focusing on biology, coaching, and athletic training. With over seven years of experience coaching and training athletes in the area, he currently serves as a Head Track Coach and Assistant Football Coach. Coach Jabari is committed to helping athletes unlock their full potential through smart, science-driven training and a competitive mindset.
